Lang Vineyards Takes Top Award at National Wine Competition

News Release

May 15th 2013

Lang Vineyards has done it again! Michael Lang, General Manager, is proud to announce that their popular Farm Reserve Riesling has just won the Best White Wine of the Year Award at the 2013 All Canadian Wine Championships, capping a series of great wins in just the past 8 weeks.

“Our 2011 Riesling recently won the Best of Varietal Award at the 2013 Okanagan Wine Fest, so winning the championships against stiff competition is tremendous validation of the quality of our wines”, states Lang.

The Riesling is described as having an aroma of “Petrol and honey-dew melon on the nose, and hints of green apple and lime with a smooth finish.”

Lang Vineyards won two other prestigious awards at the Okanagan Wine Fest including the Best of Varietal for their Rosé, and Best Dessert/Fortified Wine for their unique White Maple Wine. Furthermore, their Riesling Ice Wine was awarded the Best of Show at the Northwest Wine Summit, a huge accomplishment in view of the 800 or so entries.

“These awards are not only great for our winery” says Lang, “but a testimony to the leading position that Naramata Bench Wineries have carved out for themselves in recent years.”

Lang Vineyards invites you to visit their wine shop at 2493 Gammon Road and taste for yourself while quantities last!
